This WordPress plugin by Paul G Petty will create archives (as a .zip file or .tar.gz file) of all your WordPress data & files and have them stored remotely, including:
Your data (from your WordPress MySQL database)
Your files (and Uploads) — everything in wp-content
Your .htaccess file
Instructions for a smooth recovery
A shell script that can help automate recovery — which the author says is still a “work in progress”
The user needs a remote account; this plugin provides a connection to the offsite facility you choose. Current choices include Dropbox, Amazon’s S3, and FTP accounts.
This Plugin requires PHP5 for all of its features!
