WordPress celebrates tenth anniversary

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of WordPress, a number of meet ups took place around the world. On May 27th 2003, WordPress 1.0 was released, 60 million websites have since been powered by this tool. The meet ups were a chance for designers, developers and fans of WordPress to share knowledge over a fun and social atmosphere.

In addition to celebrating their anniversary, according to their own download counter, version 3.5 had been downloaded 21 million times as of 24th May. Hot on the trail is the release of Version 3.6 which adds a number of features including revision locking, post locking, post formats, better menu administration and a new theme.
